Just like millions of other 5-year-olds , Justin Brown had a dream of making it to the NFL and becoming a professional athlete. He chased after this goal, overcame challenges and beat the odds to accomplish his goal; earning the title and identifying himself as an NFL football player. One conversation, with a future hall of fame wide receiver and teammate of the Pittsburgh Steelers and tiring workout changed his whole perspective on who he thought he was. After being asked “ Who are you?”Justin gave a typical response, saying he was a football player. He soon learned the difference between what you do , what's your profession and who you really are. After suffering three season ending injuries in a row,, Justin found himself out of the NFL and back in his hometown, Wilmington, Delaware. Depression, anxiety and fear all settling with the question still lingering over his head of who he really is. While Just was trying to find himself, he came across a local restaurant where he was challenged by a local business owner to learn his history. Most importantly, he was challenged to define the steps in his process that took him from the small town of Wilmington, Delaware, to a major division 1 school, and eventually to the NFL.
